DIRECTORATE/CLUSTER: Finance and Operations

Position: Treasury Analyst (Grade D)

Location: Johannesburg, South Africa

Duration: Permanent

This is a critical role responsible for managing and analyzing the organisations financial activity. We are looking for a team member that is proactive, strives for continuous improvement and analytical to manage cash flow, income, liability obligations and maintain good relationship with AAI Banking partners. Reporting to the Financial Planning and Reporting Manager, the ideal candidate will execute day-to-day cash management and advise financial operations on movement of funds.



Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop processes and protocols that ensure that the transfer and remittance of funds between General Secretariat and Countries is efficient, effective, timely and value for money.

• Monitor and forecast cash balances and cash flow needs at several banks.

• Prepare and analyze proposals for banking and financing services.

• Support to manage short-term investment balances.

• Produce monthly reconciliation and analysis of actual cash remitted versus forecast to include intercompany reconciliations to analyse and feedback on time from request to execution.

• Act as the main contact point for AAI banking partners for all international payment investigations, queries and sanctions compliance.

• Ensure AAI compliance with all banking regulatory requirements.



• Ensure investment management reports are received on timely basis, reviewed and reconciled.

Education, Language & Qualifications

• B. Com Degree or professional accounting qualification.

• At least 5 years in a similar role.

• Solid foundation in finances and must have strong communication and leadership skills.

Essential Knowledge, skills and Experience

• Experience using online banking platforms, treasury systems and accounting systems.

• Experience of working in an international treasury function. Experience of developing and preparing international cashflow reports,

• Experience of developing Fund flows policies and protocols and successfully implementing them.

• Ability to work in a multicultural context/environment, and demonstrate innovative practices.

• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise own work without close supervision and to operate within treasury policy at all times to mitigate risk.

• Attention to details, ability to use good judgment and effective decision are a must for this position.

• Has strong commitment to develop, promote and practice AAI’s values.
