Description
Do you have a passion for the drawing field? What would you like to specialise in? This course covers different disciplines of engineering such as building, mechanical, piping, electrical and structural steel detailing. Majority of these disciplines are done on a computer with draughting software.
Admission Requirements
A knowledge, comprehension and application of language, mathematics, physical science and technical drawing at matric level or equivalent. (50% pass or higher in the individual subjects is recommended.)
Selection Procedure
A candidate with the above qualifications will enter into a selection process that consists of a personal interview and a PIB (Potential Index Battery) test.

Career Path/ Opportunities
- Junior draughtsperson in any of the related disciplines
- CAD operator
- On successful completion, a student can study towards an Engineering qualification (Nated N4, 5, 6)
- Student can study the Engineering Design & Draughting courses.
Course Fees
R33 000.00 for the year. R 3000 deposit and the balance payable in equal instalments over 10 months. Please note that annual fee increases, not in excess of 10%, may apply.
Additional Costs (books, kits, etc)
Drawing Kit and Student Card – R700.00. E – Learning students are required to download Auto-cad software on their own.
Certification
On successful completion of the programme, the student will receive a National certificate from the Department of Higher Education and an African Academy Certificate.
