African Leadership Academy Catalyst Term

This transformative study abroad experience incorporates design thinking, leadership training, social and small-business entrepreneurship, rigorous academics, adventure, and cross-cultural exchange. Students develop a deep understanding of the African continent, strengthen core academic skills, and experience personal growth and independence through guided real-world experiences.

 

Enroll in the three  ALA Flagship Courses. Entrepreneurial Leadership nurtures young leaders to their highest potential, African Studies tackles essential questions of Africa’s past, present and future, and Writing & Rhetoric prepares students for the rigor of university-level academic writing.

 



Live a vibrant campus life that includes sharing a dorm room with an African student, joining student-led club and sports, and participating in a multitude of special, Catalyst-specific events both on and off campus.

 

Join ALA for one of two 16-week terms, an extended, 21-week term, or  a full 40-week year. Opportunities exist for internships with the ALA Global Programs Division, externships with local non-profits and start-ups , and/or independent and continuing A Level course studies where applicable.
