The Cederberg Municipality is looking to hire an intern to work in Legal Services. This will be a one year contract.
The Cederberg Municipality, which includes the towns, Citrusdal, Clanwilliam, Graafwater, Lamberts Bay and Elands Bay as well as a large rural area, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill vacant positions within its establishment. Requirements
- LLB Degree or Equivalent
- Code B Drivers Licence
- Fluent in two of the three official languages of the Western Cape
- Computer Literate in MS Word / Outlook
- Attention to detail
- Administration skills
- Protocol and business ethics
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Good research ability
- Able to handle conflict
- Able to work under pressure
- Time management
Remuneration will be R 72,000 per annum all inclusive packages
The intern will be capacitated to perform the following functions:
- Provide, establish and maintain legal services and compliance with the organisation
- Providing legal advice to the municipality, management of contract and service level agreements, risk and compliance, chairing of disciplinary hearings, drafting of items to Council and committees
- The full scope of duties will be communicated on commencement of employment
