Position Title: Junior Assistant – Virology
Location: Roodeplaat
Classification: Permanent
Employment Equity: Preference will be given to EE applicants

Deltamune (Pty) Limited, an independent centre of excellence, is a South African-based biotechnology company. Our focus is on veterinary health offering vaccines on a commercial scale. Deltamune’s veterinary vaccine range includes registered and autogenous vaccines for poultry, ruminants and other species. Deltamune invites all suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the following vacancy:
The purpose of the position is to independently, and with direction, provide services for the manufacturing of viral antigen and other biological products to enable GMP quality material to be produced for our customers.
- Receiving and Packing of SPF eggs and duck eggs.
- Candling and marking of eggs according to the required route and standard.
- Inoculation of embryonated.
- Harvesting of inoculated eggs.
- Maintaining, monitoring and cleaning of other relevant production equipment, including washing of trays, bins, incubators etc.
- Maintain plant cleaning and hygiene management for the area as to meet the required standard.
- Correct handling of thermometers, weights, balances within the scope of operations.
- Preparation of Media and other Laboratory Reagents as required according to production schedule.
- Handle hazardous material in a manner consistent with OHSA requirements and related training.
- Completion of production.

- Knowledge and/or experience in basic computer skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including flexibility and the ability to work well in a team environment
- Must make provision for own transportation.
- Be able to work flexible hours.
- Applicant should be energetic and in good health.
