Your role will support the development, management, and assessment of systems as well as processes to facilitate the successful implementation of the Anglo American Social Way throughout the Mine.

You will:

  • Utilize electronic management systems, such as SAP, IsoMetrix, MS Projects, Operating Model Feedback Portal and other electronic databases for Social Performance purposes.
  • Capture, investigate and manage social incidents and grievances in line with Social Way requirements.
  • Conduct trend analysis, monitoring and evaluation on social incidents and grievances as well as risks and impacts related to the activities, products and services of the Mine.
  • Monitor and evaluate all applicable Social Performance Management plans, Key Performance Indicators and action trackers associated with the implementation of the Anglo American Social Way.
  • Engage with local communities on behalf of the mine in order to resolve potential and actual impacts as well as incidents as grievances.
  • Provide support and form part of cross functional teams to identify and manage Social Risks and Impacts pertaining to all lifecycle stages of the Mine.
  • Support the departmental implementation and monitoring of Safety, Health and Environment management systems thereby assisting in reducing and minimizing operational impacts on Safety, Health and Environment.

Formal qualifications:



  • Grade 12 Certificate or relevant National NQF level qualification
  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree

Additional requirements:

  • Code 08 (B) Driver’s License.
  • Successfully obtain a Red Ticket (Medical Fitness certificate) on mine.
  • Demonstrated experience with community engagement

Role-specific knowledge required:

  • 3 – 5 Years’ experience in Management Systems (Anglo American Social Way or Similar)
  • 3 – 5 Years’ experience in Auditing Management Systems.
