Enza Zaden is a vegetable breeding company that develops vegetable varieties. We produce and sell the seeds of these varieties all over the world. Both for conventional and organic growers. In order to explain this properly (and as briefly as possible) we have made an animation.

For more than 80 years we are working with the best that nature offers. We support this with state-of-the-art technologies to speed up our breeding process. That is really necessary, because currently the development of a new vegetable variety takes up 6 to 10 years.

Function description

As a Flow Cytometry Technician, you are part of the Biotechnology Applications Cell and Tissue culture Department. One of your main tasks is conducting analysis, which mainly focus on DNA content Flow Cytometry. You are responsible for reporting, managing the results, the development and updating research protocols. Next to that standardisation, digitalisation and automation are important areas in this position to optimise laboratory processes. Together with your colleagues you are responsible for a healthy and safe work environment.

In this position, you will report to the Process Manager.

In short you:

• have a relevant degree or National diploma in Biotechnology (or equivalent);
• have proven 3-5 years’ experience in flow cytometry;
• have affinity for devices and a digital mindset;
• have affinity for horticulture/agronomy;
• have good communication skills in English;
• have a valid driver’s license and own transport.
