UCT Erasmus Programme for International Students

UCT Erasmus Programme for International Students

UCT is proud to be associated with the Erasmus programme since 2011, and facilitated the mobility of UCT Postgraduate students and staff alike to Higher Education Institutions in the European Union through Erasmus.

The Erasmus Mundus programme aims to enhance quality in higher education through scholarships and academic co-operation between the EU and the rest of the world. Erasmus Mundus has three actions: Action 1 – Joint programmes; Action 2 – Partnerships, and; Action 3 – Attractiveness projects. While the Erasmus Mundus Programme ended in 2013, Action 1 master and doctoral consortia and Action 2 partnerships will continue to offer scholarships until the academic year 2017-2018.

Through the Erasmus + programme, mobility is carried out in the framework of prior “inter-institutional agreements” between the sending and receiving institutions.

The decision on where to go should be discussed with the sending Higher Education Institution, and the first step for interested students would be to contact IAPO to get information about the possibility to apply and to receive an Erasmus+ EU grant.

All enquiries can be directed to Erin Pienaar at UCT’s International Academic Programmes Office (IAPO).
