7. Support and implement 5 and 20 year capital plan for the port to ensure provision of infrastructure ahead of demand
8. Provide assistance in the delivery of capital projects to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and in
accordance to project scope
9. Research, compile and manage an effect departmental SHE safety programme
10. Manage and monitor the departments effective use of the SAP system
11. Continually review the department’s staff structure to ensure maximum utilisation of manpower
12. Plan and arrange departments training requirements in line with employees ILP’s
13. Plan, co-ordinate, implement and monitor a performance management process within the department
14. Research and compile detailed specifications for the submission of tenders for refuse removal, vegetation control, garden
service, potplants and cleaning contract
15. Continuously monitor departmental spending to ensure spending is in line with approved budget
16. Ensure adherence to company’s policies and procedures
17. Contribute towards the strategic and general management of the port as a manager to improve the business position of
the port
18. Accept responsibility as the GMR2 appointee and appointment as competent person for the Port in terms of the OSH Act
19. Provide ad hoc assistance to Property Department in undertaking inspections of leaseholder’s sites and recommend
repairs and maintenance to ensure compliance lease agreements.
20. Assist Property Department to monitor progress on recommended repairs and maintenance programmes of lessees and
ensure compliance to legal requirements
21. Through Property Department; negotiate, sign agreements and provide the necessary services, i.e. electrical, water,
sewerage etc., to leased areas.
22. Monitor ports electrical consumption to ensure compliance to Electrical Regulations and Nominated Maximum Demand
(NMD) regulations
23. Ensure optimum perway maintenance and compliance with RSR
Qualifications & Experience:
Tertiary Qualifications
National Diploma in Civil/ Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering
A programme in Infrastructure Asset Management and Maintenance will be advantageous
A programme in Project Management will be advantageous
Minimum Years Relevant Experience:
08 to 10 years of experience in engineering maintenance
