The course covers network technologies, installation and configuration, media and topologies, management, and security. Candidate job roles include network administrator, network technician, network installer, help desk technician and IT cable installer.




This CompTIA Network+ course teaches you the fundamentals of networking. You’ll learn how to install, configure and troubleshoot basic networking hardware, protocols and services so you can successfully implement and maintain networks. If you’re an aspiring network support professional or just getting started with networking, this course is right for you. This is an entry-level certification, so no previous IT experience is needed, but some familiarity with computer hardware and software will be helpful.

PROGRAM COMPOSITION (SUBJECTS)

Network+ Certification training is considered a solid foundational certification for anyone interested in an IT career or to prove existing knowledge in basic IT networking and network support.

With Network+ certification training at Crane College, the student will learn:

  • *Basics of networking theory, concepts and networking methods
  • *Basics of networking data delivery
  • *Networking media, cabling and hardware
  • *Networking protocols and the OSI model
  • *Networking Operating Systems
  • *TCP/IP fundamentals
  • *Basics of PC and networking security

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

A senior certificate or an appropriate National Certificate (N3), or a National Senior Certificate, or an equivalent qualification.

Relevant work experience will also be considered.

DURATION

The duration of the course is 4 months.

 

ASSESSMENT

There will be a final computer-based exam at the end of the course. The exam will be delivered by CompTIA and the qualification will be issued from CompTIA (Microsoft).

The learner will be prepared for the final exam by perfoming exam simulations in the computer lab, which will count as an assessment tool for the learner and lecturer.

COURSE FEES

The fees include all text-books, assignments, assessments, examination fees. The fee also includes practical sessions for full time students.
